Adopt-A-Highway and Fall Cleanup Adopt-A-Highway and Fall Cleanup

October 6, 2018Have you noticed NICC’s name on the two signs on Grass Lake Road between Rt. 83 and Rt. 59? NICC signed an agreement each year with the Lake County Division of Transportation Adopt-A-Highway program, to help clear debris on this section of highway. This year is our 19th year to participate in this program. We would like it to have all volunteers meet at the corner of Rt. 83 & Grass Lake Rd by Triangle Bait and Marine at 10 am.
Fall cleanup at the club grounds, will follow after the highway cleanup at 11am. One of the plans is to wash all the windows and remove debris off the roof. There are branches that need to be trimmed all along the road coming into the property from the RR tracks. Lunch will be served to all the volunteers. This is a perfect time to give some of your yearly 5 hours of volunteer time to the club.

October 6, 2018While the adults are clearing the fallen trees grounds, this is a perfect time for the pumpkin carving contest.
The Landscaping committee has come up with a wonderful idea to have kids carve their own pumpkins and decorate them.
Pumpkins and prizes are provided by the Landscaping Committee. Bring the kids out to NICC and watch them carve their pumpkins. Make it a family day!
