62nd Annual Ice Fishing Derby
February 12 & 13, 2022
Located at Channel Lake at 42273 N. Woodbine, Antioch, IL
The 62nd NICC Annual Ice-Fishing Derby will be held February 12-13, 2022. Details are still being finalized, but it will be run similar to last year’s event. Each fisherman that wishes to participate in the derby will be required to pay a $10 entry fee that allows them to fish both days and qualifies them for a chance to win a guided fishing trip. Our main concern was the safety of the fisherman and NICC members running the event. This decision was made to follow the CDC guidelines with the caveat we could cancel if needed.
To conduct the Derby in a safe manner, we will be having limited bucket raffles and no live auction. There will be a limited gathering of people during the Derby. The fisherman will only come to shore to register and enter their fish. The two fish judges will be in one area with only one fisherman allowed at a time to enter their fish. There will be another area set up with NICC members who are there to sell bucket raffle tickets, register fishermen, and answer any questions that the fisherman or public may have.
In place of selling raffle tickets and the live auction, NICC will again be holding a Lottery Raffle for the month of February! We will be selling 1,000 tickets for $10 each. The tickets will be number from 000 to 999. Each night the Illinois State Lottery has a Pick 3. If you are holding the ticket with the numbers that are called that night, you will win $50 plus and a possible item that has been donated by our generous sponsors. On Saturday night of the Derby, February 12th the lucky winner will win $250. On Sunday night of the Derby, February 13th the lucky winner will receive $500.
Here is where we need your help. We need every member to sell 14 tickets. If you sell 14 tickets, your 2022 membership will be waived!

Our goal is to provide the community with an activity where they can enjoy the outdoors in a safe manner, spend time with their family, and blow off some of their COVID hibernation steam. And finally, for us to bring in enough money to operate and maintain this organization.
Please be a part of this year’s Derby by selling your 14 tickets. You will receive an email from the lottery raffle coordinator with details on obtaining tickets. Please watch for this email.
