2nd Annual Outdoor Education Day

07/05/2019

2nd Annual Outdoor Education Day
NICC is partnering with the Chain-O-Lakes Chapter of Ducks Unlimited and Lake County Pheasants Forever to present the 2nd Annual Outdoor Education Day.

Lake County Outdoor Education is a combination of multiple organizations and local businesses that have come together to help provide opportunities for individuals that are interested in the outdoors and learning shooting sports. On July 20, 2019 we will be hosting the 2nd Annual Outdoor Education Day at Richmond Hunt Club (5016 IL-173, Richmond, IL) starting at 8:00 am.

Events:

  • Trap Shooting
  • Archery
  • Riffle Range
  • First Aid
  • Tomahawk Toss
  • Campfire building
  • Fishing
  • Hunter Safety Trail
  • DNR Education Trailer and Much More!

The event is Open to Ages 10 and up ***Instructors at the shooting stations have final discretion on gun handling safety.

Cost: $25.00 per participant (Registration includes Ducks Unlimited and Pheasants Forever Membership for all Youth
participants as well as Lunch for all registered participants) As well as all registered participants will receive a ticket for
raffles.

Registration is limited, so book your spot while they are available! Register here!

More information can be found on the events Facebook Page too.
Our sponsors continue to grow, but here is a list of who is involved so far:

  • Northern Illinois Conservation Club
  • Ducks Unlimited
  • Pheasants Forever
  • Illinois Department of Natural Resources Conservation Police
  • Boy Scouts of America
  • Richmond Hunt Club
  • Bass Pro Shops
  • Musky Tails

NICC will be handling the fishing station and we are in need of volunteers to help out. The way this event works is the registrants are divided into 6 groups and each group will visit each of the 6 stations for 45 minutes. So on the top of every hour we will have a new group of 8-16 kid to show them the basics of fishing.

The pond will be set up at is loaded with bluegills so the kids will easily catch fish. I did this event lasts year and it is very rewarding and fun. Please let me know if you are able to help out. If you can only do a part of the day that will be fine.

The event will run from 8:00 am to 4:00 pm. Lunch will be provided. Spread the word of this event to anyone you think will be interested in participating and again, let me know if you can helpout or have any questions.

Thank you,
Leonard Dane
